High Quality CPAP Without High Cost
Vygon SA was created in 1962 and has become a world-leader in single-use medical and surgical equipment. Vygon pioneered the use of disposable plastics in medical applications.
CPAP + nebulizer + fixation harness + facial mask
Compatible with all face masks, endotracheal tubes and tracheostomy tubes. This is an open system. Pressure is generated by the injection of gases passing through micro-capillaries (located all around the CPAP device) increasing in speed and generating turbulence therefore creating a “virtual valve”. The CPAP device has two ports: a green one with integral oxygen connecting tube and a translucent colorless port for:
– controlling pressure
– monitoring CO2
– adding oxygen.
How it Works
The gases administered to the patient (air, air-oxygen mixture or pure oxygen) pass through the extension tube and arrive in a circular chamber where the gases can only escape into the central zone passing through 4 micro-channels. At that moment, the injection speed of the gases is greatly increased. Deflector at the exit site of the micro-channels eject the gases arriving at high speed towards the opposite wall.
The collision of gas molecules between themselves generates a turbulence which creates a virtual valve and simultaneously the speed of gases is transformed in pressure. This pressure depends directly on the flow rate: if the flow rate (the amount of gas injected) is increased, the pressure will increase; if the flow rate is decreased, the pressure will decrease.
